Who me? Holy!

A true woman lives a God-centered life.

She lives a life of repentance, holiness, and service; but above all, she is enthralled with Christ!

• 1 Peter 1:15-16 "But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy.""
• God is the One who called us.
• He has called us to holiness.
• He has called us to be holy in ALL that we do. 

Holiness is not just a "Sunday only" activity.  We are called by God to be holy in ALL that we do. I know you are probably saying, "Who me? Holy?"  And God answers back, "YES, You. Holy!"  When we are completely enthralled with Christ who is living within us, we desire holiness.  Do you desire holiness?  Look to Him.  He is holy.  He is there to help you, to come to your aid, to show you holiness.  He is holy and will be holy in your life.  So- Yes you can.  Be Holy.

Dear Lord, give me a passion to love you more and more each day. May I desire holiness within me. Help me be holy in my words, actions, dress and attitudes. In Jesus' name. Amen

Haz-Mat Suit

A true woman lives a God-centered life.

She lives a life of repentance, holiness, and service; but above all, she is enthralled with Christ!

• 2 Corinthians 7:1 "Since we have these promises*, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God."
• *What promises?  The preceding verses tell us that we are the temple of the living God; As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, I will be their God and they will be my people." and "I will receive you and you will be my sons and daughters."
• We are to purify ourselves from things that contaminate us. The picture in my mind is of someone in a haz-mat suit not wanting to even touch it. (Get rid of the garbage and gunk!)  What hazardous material in my life needs to be removed?
• We are to perfect holiness.  Perfecting is an on going process.  It doesn't just happen on it's own. What discipline of holiness am I pursuing?
• We are to prefer the reverence of God.  Our love and devotion to God is what drives us to this type of lifestyle.  It is not for us to look good.  Does God know my love and devotion to Him based on my choices?

  

Dear Heavenly Father;  You are Holy and perfect in all your ways.  Thank you for being my God and calling me your daughter.  Help me today to desire holiness out of reverence for you.  May I choose purity in my thoughts, words and actions because of who you are to me.  Help me to recognize you living in me and may I never want to tarnish your image.  In Jesus' name. Amen.

Here Comes the Bride

A true woman lives a God-centered life.

She lives a life of repentance, holiness, and service;  but above all, she is enthralled with Christ!

• Ephesians 5:27 "and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
• We are the bride of Christ.  
• A Bride without stain, wrinkle or blemish.
• A Bride that is holy and blameless.

  There is a lot of preparation that goes into a wedding.  The Bride finds that perfect dress. That gown is fitted, tailored, pressed and carefully hung up awaiting that special day. The day that she has been waiting for; the day that she sees her groom.  All eyes will be on the bride as her eyes are on the bridegroom.  

  The Lord Jesus died not only to bring forgiveness but also to effect a new life of holiness for his bride.  We are dressed in the perfect garment, without wrinkle, stain, or blemish. All eyes are on us, as our eyes are on the Lord Jesus Christ.  After all, He is the lover of our souls!

I'm Chosen

A true woman lives a God-centered life. She lives a life of repentance, holiness, and service; but above all, she is enthralled with Christ! Ephesians 1:4 "For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight." He did the choosing and wanted you and me. He chose us before the world was even created; years before we were born; long before we could do anything good for Him. His will results in us being holy and blameless. I have been chosen by God, before He created the world.  Holiness is the result-not the basis-of God's choosing.  Christ in me provides a holy and blameless life.  He is at work within me, providing what I couldn't do---be holy and blameless. Doesn't that make you want  to live for Him? Father, Thank you for choosing me.  I am humbled to think, you the God of creation, the God of the universe, would want me.  Thank you.  Since Jesus is residing in me, Help me to live my life pleasing you and honoring Him.

End Results

She lives a life of repentance, holiness, and service; but above all, she is enthralled with Christ! Let's take today's verse, phrase by phrase.

• Romans 12:2 "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is---his good, pleasing and perfect will.
• We were conforming to the world's example. That is not to be our model any longer.
• Our mind can and must be renewed-which will transform us.
• THEN- (there is a result) We will be able to test and approve what God's will is.
• God's will is good, pleasing and perfect. 

We all want the end result, which always requires something on our part.  You want to be in shape and lose weight, you will have to exercise and eat less.  You want a clean kitchen, you will have to scrub. You want a great garden, you will have to get your hands dirty and pull some weeds. You want to know God's will, you must renew your mind.  What do you want for your life?  What do you need to do today to get your end result? I am praying this verse for you. In Jesus' name, Pam

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

 A True Woman lives a God-centered life.

She "turns her eyes upon Jesus" in the midst of her problems and sees these challenges in the context of His greatness. In doing you bring glory to God and obedience to His word.  I thought I would include the words to the hymn, "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus", words and music by Helen H. Lemmel.  Enjoy!

"IF"y Faith

A true woman lives a God-centered life.   She "turns her eyes upon Jesus" in the midst of her problems and sees these challenges in the context of His greatness. Mark 9:22b-23 "If You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!" And Jesus said to him, "'If You can!' All things are possible to him who believes." Our faith is weak. "IF you can..." His response is strong.  "ALL things are possible..." The end result is a miracle!   Our faith is "if"y at best.  I am so glad that we can turn to Jesus, even with our small "if"y faith and He CAN!  Think about a situation where you need Jesus to step in and work a miracle.  He says, "I CAN, ALL things are possible to you who believe."   My response: "YES, I BELIEVE!"
